This adapter converts an HDMI male connector on your existing cable to a DVI male connector.It has the function of bridging between DVI and HDMIIf you have a male connector on your HDMI cable, you can plug it into the female HDMI connector on this adapter and cable will then have a male DVI connector on the end. This adapter can be used to connect HDMI cables to DVI monitors, or HDMI cables to older televisions that have DVI inputs.
NOTE: The adapter is able to transmit both video and audio, but if you HDTV doesn't output audio, please check if it does have audio codec.
