Pi-Lite  Lots of LEDs 0805/RED  for the Raspberry Pi (CISECO B040)

The exciting Pi Lite is a large LED matrix display for scrolling text and graphics.

It brings the very popular Arduino lots of LED's shield by Jimmy Rogers to the world of the Raspberry Pi. The fully assembled add on board plugs directly onto the Raspberry Pi. Using standard serial comms (9600bps), it's really simple to send text and grahics to the 126 LED's. The matrix is powered from an ATmega 328 processor, this is, as you would expect programmable (in place) using a compiler such as the Arduino IDE and can run any Jimmy Rogers or similar sketch. This can be done direct on your Pi, the IDE will run on the Pi.

      • Based on the Jimmy Rogers LOL shield (well tried, tested and supported)
      • 9 x 14 matrix of LEDs (for text or grahpics)
      • Once programed will run on power alone (run your display or scrolling message on battery or mains without the Pi)
      • It's serial so can be used with any TTL micro, radio (eg XRF) or PC interface(for example the popular FTDI cable)

      Features:

      • On board ATMega328p
      • High quality
      • Arduino Compatible
      • 126 Red LEDS (there will be a bright white version coming soon)
      • Can be driven over the serial UART. There is also I2C (has built in logic level shifters to protect your Pi) but this will require different firmware.
      • Runs at 5 volts off the Pi supply
      • Preloaded software, can be used out of the box to display the following
        • Scrolling Text
        • Bar Graph
        • VU Meter
        • Framebuffer
        • Individual Pixels
      • Pre built / Plug and Play
      • Ability to install 6 pin ISP or 6 pin FTDI Headers to the ATMega328P
      • Atmega 328 analog pins are broken onto standard holes (just like the Jimmy Roger shield)
      • Made in the UK

      Technical data

      Dimensions: 85mm x 55mm x 13.7mm

Red LED's are 0805 in size, the bright white are 1206

With the ERF radio plugged into the FTDI connectot you could make a stand alone wireless display - https://store-8d73a.mybigcommerce.com/erf-0-1-pin-spaced-radio-module/
